With Fr. Jim. McManus C.Ss.R.
Priests and deacons are the frontline soldiers of Christ in today’s world. Like all soldiers in battle they can receive deep wounds. They need time to relax and recover their strength in what Pope Francis calls “the oasis of mercy”, one of his favourite images of the Church.
This retreat will be time well spent in “the oasis of mercy”. Fr. Jim McManus, who has directed retreats for priests and deacons in many different countries and has published five books on different aspect of the healing ministry, will develop this clear teaching of the Church: “Healing the wounds of sin, the Holy Spirit renews us interiorly through a spiritual transformation”. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, para 1695)
As we invite the Holy Spirit to come afresh into our hearts we will experience that spiritual transformation which is Christ’s special gift to his priests and deacons for the renewal and revitalization of our whole being and ministry. Each time we experience the Holy Spirit’s healing in our own life, Christ is teaching us how to minister that same healing to others.
The retreat begins with supper at 7.00pm on Monday, 9th September 2019 and ends after breakfast on Friday, 13th September 2019. Retreatants should aim to arrive in Kinnoull for late afternoon on the 9th September 2018 at the earliest.
The cost of the retreat is £299 and a non-refundable deposit of £65.00 is required to secure a booking for the retreat.
