Retreat Bursaries for NHS workers

Dear NHS Worker,

In collaboration with The Association for Promoting Retreats (APR), we are pleased to pass on the following message from them.

With best wishes,

The Kinnoull Team.

APR message begins:

"The Association for Promoting Retreats would like to thank NHS Staff and care-workers for their tireless care throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic.

And to say ‘thank you’, we have made a number of Bursaries available for NHS staff and care-workers to make a retreat at any of the APR Retreat Houses across the UK, to be taken before the end of April 2021.

As an NHS Worker, all you have to do is choose which APR Member House you would like to take your retreat at (full listings of all our Houses can be found by clicking here), and book in your dates with them! Then simply ask them to fill in our bespoke Application Form on your behalf to claim your discount. We will do the rest!

As with our ‘standard’ bursaries, applications to this new fund can only be made by the APR Member Retreat Houses at which the NHS worker chooses to take their retreat. We will then reimburse the House directly (so as the retreatant, you will only be invoiced for the balance of your expenses). The maximum grant for each applicant remains at 50% of the total cost of the retreat (either private or guided), up to a maximum grant of £150.

There are no extra hardship criteria for applicants for these ‘NHS bursaries’, but APR will need to record the name and address of the NHS Trust that the retreatant works for.

Applications can be made using our specific NHS Bursary Application Form, and all ‘NHS Retreats’ must be taken by the end of April 2021. Further Guidelines for these NHS bursaries can be found here, but please do not hesitate to get in touch with us directly if you have any other questions (Email:

APR message ends.
