Perth is served by a very good road network linking it to the A1 and the M74 which are the principal routes from the South (please be aware some Satnavs will not find us using the address and/or postcode, it is better to use the GPS co-ordinates for St. Mary’s, 56.3947° N, 3.4098° W) (for road and map directions click here).
It is also a mainline station on the railway network with almost hourly services via Edinburgh and Glasgow and a daily direct service to London Kings Cross.
There is an excellent coach service linking it with all the main cities and towns, with a daily direct service to London.
Both Edinburgh and Glasgow International Airports are accessible. At Edinburgh Airport take a tram, two stops (10 minutes) to Edinburgh Gateway railway station from where there are frequent trains to Perth.
There are many ways of getting to Perth from various parts of the country. There is the daily direct train to and from King’s Cross in London. This leaves Perth at 9.59 and gets into London at 15.49. It leaves London at 12.00 noon and gets into Perth at. 17.52. An easy journey without a change
There is also a train or a bus almost every hour to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The train arrives at the centre of Glasgow on the centre of Edinburgh. (See Ember Bus details below).
The regular bus, Citylink goes hourly also but the challenge is making sure that it doesn’t drop you at Broxden which is 3 miles from here as there are no taxis there. There are taxis from the railway station which is about 600 metres the bus station in Perth, but very few buses are now stopping there.
However, with the new Ember bus, everything has changed. You can get the Ember bus from Canal Street in town, straight into Glasgow Centre (and in reverse).

Also, the Ember bus runs to and from Walnut Grove to Edinburgh Centre – or to the Airport – depending on what you book. You just google Ember bus and book online and it runs every hour, 24 hours. It is £6.50 and is an amazing service.
The only challenge is that you have to let us here know when you are arriving at Walnut Grove, or when you wish to be there, so that we can arrange transport for you. It is only about 7 minutes away, but it is a very difficult walk.
There is free Wi-Fi on the bus, but it has to be booked online. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
