Sabbaticals 2022 & 2023

These prayerful and relaxing courses are designed for those looking for a course with a focus on personal renewal through prayer and reflection.

One of the course highlights is a pilgrimage to St. Columba’s Island of Iona.

We shall be offering our traditional Seven Week Sabbatical renewal courses beginning with the Autumn one in October.

  • The Autumn Sabbatical will commence on 24th October, 2022 and end on the morning of 8th December.
  •  Details of the 2023 dates will be available shortly.

Monday 16th May (arrivals after 3.00pm for supper at 7.00pm) and depart after breakfast on Friday, 20th May

The Spirituality of True Self Esteem led by Fr. Jim McManus, C.Ss.R. and Miss Marie Hogg.

God says to each one "You are precious in my sight". Living by this life-giving word of God helps us to develop true self esteem in our lives as we gradually acknowledge that God is our loving Father. This course gives participants the opportunity to set their hearts once again on God's word.

The Gift of Healing and Wholeness - The Healing Ministry in the Church today, led by Fr. Jim McManus, C.Ss.R.

Pope Francis tells us that “the church is a field hospital after battle" and he emphasises that the first task of the church is "to heal the wounds" that so many people suffer in life. During this week Fr. Jim, who has written extensively on the Healing ministry, will explore what Cardinal Yves Congar OP called, "The rediscovery of this form of ministry"

Protecting and Caring for the Earth, our Common Home led by Fr. Sean McDonagh, SSC

Pope Francis challenges the Church to discuss and protect the environment, the climate and our common earthly home.  Fr. Sean will help us look at the challenges and current threats to our common home "The Earth". Fr. Sean was part of the team who advised Pope Francis on his Encyclical Laudato Si: on the care of our common home.

Friday 3rd June (arrivals after 3.00pm for supper at 7.00pm) until Sunday 5th June after lunch. 

A weekend journey discovering the Spirituality of True Self Esteem led by Fr. Jim McManus, C.Ss.R. and Miss Marie Hogg. 

This offer of a weekend provides the opportunity for those unable to attend the weekday course, to enter into the heart of this topic in an intense and yet supportive manner.

Fr. Denis McBride C.Ss.R. will lead a scriptural week on "Jonah and Jesus".

Fr. Denis is an internationally recognised communicator on Scripture and has written many books on the Gospel of Luke.  His courses and online Masses attract large numbers. Book soon.
