Personal and Spiritual Growth
if you are 40—90

Facilitated by Sr. Sheila Burke RSM

What is it about?

  • It is about the second half of life’s journey.
  • It is about acknowledging the gifts with which God has blessed you.
  • It is about celebrating what God has done in your life.
  • It is a time to ask yourself anew the ultimate question—What is the purpose of my life?
  • It is a time to reflect on my past in a creative and healing way.
  • It is a time to renew my faith, hope and love in life itself.
  • It is a time to learn how to relax, how to contemplate.

What happens at the Workshop?

  • Each person is led into a process of discovery of the “self within” that needs to emerge in the second half of life.
  • With help from the insights of Jungian developmental psychologists.
  • With help from the experience and individuality of the participants and facilitator.
  • The process is personal, non threatening, exciting and effective.
  • The stages of life.

Is it for me?

  • Characteristics of this stage of transition and change.
  • Jungian personality theory and typology.
  • Owning, objectifying and reinterpreting one’s personal story
  • Exploring shifting values and individuation
  • Designing one’s own future — Singing a New Song.

Sr. Sheila trained to facilitate this workshop in New Jersey in 1996.
While on the Team at Hawkstone Hall Pastoral Centre, she directed many workshops. Other venues were in London and St Non’s Retreat Centre, Wales. During her time in Africa Religious men, women and lay people of other faiths participated in these workshops.
Sr. Sheila hopes now to offer the workshop in the recently refurbished St Mary’s Pastoral Centre in Kinnoull, Scotland. All are welcome.
